My boys rock, and food (what else is new?)
I just ate a massive salad. No, I mean massive. It was the size that I usually make for Hubby and I and we both generally have two helpings (modest ones though). So, basically I just ate a mixing bowl full of salad. Oh, and a whole wheat pita and a perfectly ripe banana. It was all very, very yummy. I have been feeling guilty about the shite I’ve been putting into my body from eating out a lot this week. Yesterday was especially bad food-wise, I ate the equivalent of 3 meals out and those included the likes of General Tao Chicken (yummm), Pizza and Nachos. So, as of today, I will try to minimize the crap I put into my not-so-little body.
The Little One must like the idea ‘cuz I am getting some serious belly action right now :)
Last night was the gig that Geekslut, CF and Marv have been prepping for over the past few weeks. It was downtown right next to school. There was quite the crown there (besides us family and friends supporters) and there was a little elevated stage at the front with a guard rail kinda thing so drunken fools wouldn’t accidentally take out the performers or instruments I guess. All I can say is that they were excellent. I mean really, the weekly practices have been certainly paying off or something, ‘cuz… wow. I really enjoyed what I saw. I even stayed until midnight (about halfway through the second set) because I enjoyed it so much (and I wanted to hear certain songs). Marv is certainly turning into a Celtic fiddlin’ master, and his mandolin-ing is improving at a good rate. Now, if we can only get him to stop grimacing and glaring at the audience…. CF like-wise was groovin’ with the best of them last night and kudos to him for stopping the “grimace-and-glare” combination by the second set (I hear he even got downright rowdy by the end of the third set).
Oh my, can my husband ever sing. Man he’s good. And I am NOT just saying that because I am married to him, I have been known to provide some criticism where need be. I hear him sing and play guitar around the house a fair bit so here I was thinking I was immune to the silly butterflies-in-the-tummy and ‘mooning’ over the lead singer-guitarist thing. Alas, no. I sat there with tingles and butterflies (a different feeling from the baby moving, so it was not just that:) and a silly grin on my face thinking “oooh, I married that man. Lucky, lucky me”. It’s a HUGE difference to see him performing in a real setting than just playing around the house. He’s really in his element on stage, never even looked nervous for that damned REM song that has caused some difficulties up until Wed night.
I am such a groupie.
I was really proud of my boys last night, they really pulled it off. Now, we wait and see if we can get ’em a regular gig outta this. Keep your fingers crossed.
